The measure of man. Much of humanity define themselves not by who they are, and having a true sense of pride in accomplishment in the creation of a self worthy of a genuine feeling such as pride, and integrity towards that self. We are taught that our true value lies within the things we have, and the positions we have acquired. The media being the greatest propagator of the ideas of the materialist standard of personal value. Money is a wonderful thing, it has survival value, and signifies in some ways an individuals intellectual and physical output, but how much or how little one has should not define the content of ones being - we all know that sometimes the financial rewards received for our efforts do not always reflect those efforts.
